INTRODUCTION
All 4th-12th graders are invited to participate in Letters About Literature Texas! Read a book or poem and write a letter. Be sure to read the submission steps (teacher) and official rules set by the Texas Center for the Book at the Texas State Library and Archives Commission. Submissions opened December 15, 2024.
In 2019, after administering the contest for 27 years, the Library of Congress (LOC), decided to give state centers full control over their Letters About Literature programs. Although there will not be a national prize, we will stick with our Texas tradition of awarding cash prizes to first place winners in all three levels. Find the most up-to-date prizes information on the Letters About Literature Texas Prize Page.
Submissions are open until February 3, 2025 at 5:00 p.m. (Central).
